A brief note about us

You may have heard it, but if not, here it is. Our founder David Card, “Poor David” himself, is retiring this summer after basically 50 years in the music business. His daughter, Amelia Card, is taking over in June 2026. She’s grown up at Poor David’s jumping on the leather chairs and singing on the stage. A musician herself, she personally understands what makes Poor David’s matter to the artists who perform here and to the audiences who keep coming back. You may see some modern updates! But the heart of Poor David’s will always remain: a room that centers the music and welcomes you home every time the doors open. Y’all come see us now, ya hear!? Poor David’s <3’s You.
